With solemn hearts, we announce the passing of Sarah Alice Pope (Lithonia, Georgia), whose presence will be deeply missed, having departed on January 5, 2025 at the age of 80. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
She was predeceased by: her parents, Jesse Pope and Sarah Jo Pope; and her brother Gene. She is survived by: her brother Marty Pope (Svetlana) of Flowood, Mississippi; her sister-in-law Andrea Pope of Conyers; her nephews, Jeff Pope (Leigh) of Johns Creek, Steve Pope of Decatur, Jesse Pope of Atlanta and Alek Pope (Laura Grace) of Memphis, Tennessee; and her extended family Georgia.
Visitation was held on Monday, January 13th 2025 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at the Henry Funeral Home (6833 Church St, Lithonia, GA 30058). A funeral service was held on Monday, January 13th 2025 from 11:00 AM to 12:00 PM at the same location. A burial was held on Monday, January 13th 2025 from 12:30 PM to 12:45 PM at the Hillandale Memorial Park (6201 Hillandale Dr, Lithonia, GA 30058).
Her career at Lithonia Lighting was 34 ½ years, but at the end of 1997 she stepped down from her job to care for her mother, Sarah Jo, who had Alzheimer's disease.
