He was predeceased by: his parents, Edgar A. Thompson and Iris Wilson Thompson; his former wife Brenda Alberson Thompson; and his brothers, Jimmy Thompson and Garland Thompson.
He is survived by: his wife Wilma Thompson of Lithonia; his children, Jordan Thompson (Meredith) of Conyers, Meredith Gallagher (Kevin) of Double Oak and Melanie Keil (Duane) of Social Circle, Georgia; his grandchildren, Gracie Gallagher, Emma Keil, Rylee Jennison, Luke Keil, Oakleigh Thompson, Liam Gallagher, Fisher Thompson and Magge Mae Thompson; and his brother Clarence Thompson (Mildred) of Avera, Georgia. He is also survived by nieces and nephews.
