He was predeceased by: his mother Helen McDaniel Bannister; and his brothers, Daryl, Kenneth and Guy Bannister. He is survived by: his close friend Norma Roberson; his children, Michele Siefert (David), Tonya Bannister, Tammy Bannister, David Ray Matney, Daniel Roberson Jr. and Rene Roberson; and his siblings, John, J. W. Bannister, Shelia Mason, Katie Lecroy and Eva Vasser. He is also survived by eight grandchildren.
