He was predeceased by: his parents, W. L. "Red" Duke and Vera Weems Duke; and his brother Coach Ed Duke. He is survived by: his daughters, Brenda Dempsey (Rick) of Cave Spring and Robin Duke (Ty Gore) of Cave Spring; his granddaughter Mackenzie Andrews (David) of Norton, MA; his great grandchild James Ford Andrews of Norton, MA; and his sister Linda Dyer. He is also survived by nieces and nephews.
