He was predeceased by: his parents, Ed Smith and Ruby Holder Smith; his former wife Dorothy Ann Smith of Washington; his siblings, Ruby Cherry, Dorothy Bailey, Robert, David, William, Millard, Timothy and James Smith; and his stepmother Ulee Smith.

He is survived by: his wife Norma Smith; and his sons, Billy Smith (Barbara) and Thomas Smith (Dottie). He is also survived by 3 grandchildren, 8 great-grandchildren, 5 great-great grandchildren; nieces and nephews.
