It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Sylvia Elizabeth Chafin (Lincolnton, Georgia), who passed away on March 30, 2025, at the age of 83, leaving to mourn family and friends. She was predeceased by: her parents, Aaron Willis, Sr. and Hazel Arnett Willis Kirkland; her husband Thomas P. Chafin; her son Darran Chafin; her brother Aaron "Bo" Willis; her stepfather James Kirkland; and her siblings-in-law, Glenna Willis, Jack Ferguson and Mitchell Flanigan.
She is survived by: her children, Rick Chafin (Lisa) and Penny Chafin; her brothers, Joe W. Willis (Brenda), Perry Kirkland (Marcia) and Ted Kirkland (Denise); her sisters-in-law, Ann Flanigan and Doris Ferguson Goldman (Harvey); her grandchildren, Morgan Holley (Zach) and Elizabeth Spratlin (Russ); and her great grandchildren, Fletcher Holley, Finley Holley, Avery Spratlin and Faye Beth Spratlin. She is also survived by nieces, nephews, great nieces and nephews and great- great nieces and nephews.
Visitation was held on Wednesday, April 2nd 2025 from 3:30 PM to 4:30 PM at the Beggs Funeral Home (200 May Ave, Lincolnton, GA 30817). A graveside service was held on Wednesday, April 2nd 2025 at 5:00 PM at the Goshen Baptist Church Cemetery.
