He is survived by : his wife Judy Callaway; his children, Tammy Gunter (Shane) of Washington, Samantha Lamar of Union Point, Rick Lamar of Buckhead, Sam Callaway (Tonya) of Lincolnton and Dennis Callaway (Paula) of Lincolnton; and his grandchildren, Ty Gunter, Tripp Gunter, Khloe Saunders and Russell Callaway.
