She was predeceased by: her father Jim Cotton; and her stepson Robbie Sudduth. She is survived by: her husband Thomas "Bo" Thornton; her mother Sue Cotton; her son TJ Vann; her stepdaughter Kelsey Freeman (Wesley); her siblings, Tim Cotton (Dawn), Denise Bargeron (Matt) and Kelly Cotton (Denise); and her grandchildren, Hunter, Mason, Kaydence, Peyton Vann, Shannon, Cole, Madalyn and Hudson Freeman.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society, 2607 Commons Blvd, Augusta, Georgia 30909 in Patty's memory.
