John Kenneth Koone Obituary

We are sad to announce that on March 17, 2025, at the age of 91, John Kenneth Koone of Lincolnton, Georgia passed away. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.

He was predeceased by: his parents, Lucious Carl Koone and Sudie Louise McNeill Smith of Ware Shoals, SC.; his daughter Jana Lackey; and his granddaughter Taryn Lackey. He is survived by: his wife Mary Jane "Janey" Koone; his children, David Kenneth Koone of Lincolnton and Kelly Jean Dixon (Bryan) of Appling; his grandchildren, David Kenneth Koone, Jr. (Sara), Bradley Aaron Koone (Caitlin), Amanda Nicole (Jon Carter), Haley Christine Montgomery, Connor Beasley Dixon, William Davis Montgomery, Sawyer Walt Dixon and Brooks Ashley Dixon; his great grandchildren, Adalynn Koone, Elizabeth Koone, Kaiden Carter, Connelly Koone and Colson Koone; and his sisters, Doris Virginia Kennen of Augusta, GA and Iris Kay Stratton (Gary) of Greenwood, SC..

Visitation was held on Friday, March 21st 2025 at 11:00 AM at the Pine Grove United Methodist Church (202 N Peachtree St, Lincolnton, GA 30817). A celebration of life was held on Friday, March 21st 2025 at 12:00 PM at the same location.

The family requests that in lieu of flowers that memorial contributions may be made to Pine Grove United Methodist Church Building Fund, 3449 Pine Grove Church Rd., Lincolnton, GA 30817.
