She was predeceased by: her parents, Virginia Norman and Ernest I. Guthrie, Sr.; her stepfather Charles Guillebeau; and her great grandchild Waylon Gibbs. She is survived by: her pets, Nell, Grace and Les; her husband John W. "Billy" Gibbs; her children, Russell Gibbs (Betty), Steven Gibbs (Melissa), Michael Gibbs and Delane Wade (Kevin) of Lincolnton; her siblings, Gail Remsen and Ernie Guthrie (Renee); her close friend Ellen Woods (Forrest); and her aunts, Ellie Ruth Beggs and Mickey C. Norman. She is also survived by 12 grandchildren, 17 great- grandchildren, 2 great- great- grandchildren, and numerous cousins, nieces and nephews.
