He was predeceased by: his father James Higginbotham, Sr.; his son Nicholas Peters; and his former wife Ann Higginbotham. He is survived by: his mother Roxie Huntley Higginbotham; his daughters, Brittany Martus (Sam) and Davina Johnson; and his siblings, Susan Rogers and James Higginbotham, Jr.. He is also survived by seven grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren.
