She was predeceased by : her husband Jerry L. Swan, Sr.; her sons, Jerry Swan, Jr. and Bryan Swan; and her siblings, Clyde Besson and Florence Foreman.

She is survived by : her daughters, Shannon Swan Sapp of Destin, Florida, and Dr. Deanne W. Swan of Springfield, Virginia; her grandsons Taylor (Shannon) Sapp and Linus (Deanne) Gagne; and her sisters, Juanita Massey, Mabel Case and Gladys Sims.

In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made in her name to one of the organizations that were close to her heart and places where she gave her time and talent: ACS Hope Lodge in Decatur, GA; her state or local women's clubs - Georgia Federation of Women's Clubs (GaFWC) or Lilburn Women's Club; or Health Mothers Health Babies Coalition of Georgia.
