He was predeceased by: his parents, Henry Marshall Shelnutt and Lillie Reba Hammonds Shelnutt; and his siblings, Hazel Mann, Ann Shelnutt and Marshall Shellnut.
He is survived by: his wife Nancy Shelnutt; his children, Trampus Shelnutt (Susan), Bonnie Christian (Rodney), Roger Shelnutt Jr., Daniel Shelnutt (Rachel), Rayburn Shelnutt (Beth) and Slim Shelnutt (Holly); and his brother Tim Shelnutt. He is also survived by twenty-five grandchildren and fifteen great-grandchildren.
