He was predeceased by: his grandson Justin Etheredge. He is survived by: his wife Kathleen Campbell Canup; his children, Katie Canup Glowka and Doug Canup (Paula) of Hayesville, NC.; his sisters, Lillie Canup Piland of Union Point, GA and Joann Canup Mixon (Dwight) of Crawford, GA; his grandchildren, Sean Canup, Adrienne Fletcher and Jonathan Fletcher; and his great grandchildren, Hayden Canup, KalliAnn Fletcher, Koleman Fletcher, Carrie Walker and Evan Etheredge.
Due to COVID-19, masks (face coverings) will be required at visitation.
In lieu of flowers, donations in memory of James can be made to the Gideons International organization.
