He was predeceased by: his parents, Boyce Patterson Lance, Sr. and Sara Bell Lance; and his siblings, Boyce Lance, Jr., Chris Lance and Sara Dees.
He is survived by: his wife Judith Shoemaker Lance; his children, Kurk Lance (Janet) of Athens, Brian Lance (Amy) of Crawford and Jennifer Yauck (Al); his grandchildren, Julia Lance, Nathanial Lance and Catherine Yauck; and his brothers, Clarence Lance, Willard Lance and John Lance.
In lieu of flowers, the family ask those wishing to make a donation in his memory do so to the American Heart Association, the Winship Cancer Institute, or Doctors Without Borders.
