He was predeceased by: his parents, J. B. Payton and Edna Sanders Payton. He is survived by: his wife Laverne Worley Payton; his daughters, Jessica Simons (Jimmy) of Jefferson, Rhonda Cox (Shane) of Greenwood, SC, Barbara Suttles (Eric Wright) of Augusta and Charmin Sexton (Kyle) of Elberton; his siblings, James Payton (Lynn) of Elberton and Dianne Payton of Elberton; and his grandchildren, Chloe, Sydnee, Alli, Makaila, McKenzi, Presleigh and Jake. He is also survived by several nieces, nephews, and other relatives.
