He was predeceased by: his parents, Ishmael Stanford and Lora Stanford; his wife Betty Stanford; his children, James Howard Stanford, Jr. and Sissy Deriso; and his siblings, Bill Stanford, Betty Burger, Myrtle Williams and Loraine Jones.
He is survived by: his daughter-in-law Lynn Stanford; his grandchildren, Brian Deriso (Angela), Andy Stanford (Tina) and Julie Mercer (Brandon); and his great grandchildren, Emily Deriso, Lydia Deriso, Aiden Wooden, Conor Stanford, Mason Mercer and Nathan Mercer.
