He was predeceased by: his wife Betty Arnold Walden; and his siblings, Madison "Bud" Walden, Lamar Walden, Zack Walden, Talmadge Walden, Jimmy Walden, Sallie Fanny Matthews, Louise Galloway and Margaret Chamlee.
He is survived by: his brothers, John L. Walden and Harold W. Walden (Joy) of Ellenwood, GA; his sisters-in-law, Thelma Walden of McDonough, GA and Barbara W. Chambers of Stockbridge, GA.; his grandchildren, Tiffany Purvis Morton (Chris) and Tony Purvis (Amanda) of Lenox, GA.; and his great grandchildren, Madi Murray, Emma Grace Morton, Daisy Morton, Chase Morton, Taylor Hagood, Kelsie Hagood and John David Taylor. He is also survived by nieces and nephews.
