It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Betty Vittum of Leesburg, Georgia, born in Thomasville, Georgia, who passed away on August 13, 2024, at the age of 87, leaving to mourn family and friends. She was predeceased by: her parents, Andrew Romeo Griffin, Sr. and Josephine Williams Griffin; her husband Buck C. Vittum; her grandson Jason Watson; her great grandchild Mary Linen Blease; and her siblings, Barzilla Robinson and Andrew Romeo Griffin, Jr..
She is survived by: her daughters, Cheryl Cottrell Boyd (Lyle) of Nashville, Denise Cottrell Hiers (Darrell) of Arizona, Nancy Cottrell Young (Jeff) of Moultrie, Natalie Cottrell Stoner (Gary) of Leesburg and Teri Hester (Danny) of Nashville; her stepdaughter Judy Inboden; her grandchildren, Darren Hiers (Natalia), Ashley Hornbuckle (Shannon), Cyndi Lindsey, Ericka Pittman (Skyler), Brianna Young, Griffin Hiers (Kayla), MaKinzy Boyd, Will Young, Brian Hester (Felicia Sandstrom) and Mandy Soeffner (Josh); her stepgranddaughter Carissa McKinney (Mitchell) of Moultrie; her great grandchildren, Abby, Ella, Isaiah, Elijah, Bentley, Jace, Reid, Nora, Ellie, Sadler, Finley Grace, Mercy Kate, Alden, Ava, Eli, Brody and Nolan; and her siblings, Liner Ann Wood of Nashville and Hirman Russell Griffin (Jeanne) of Nashville. She is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
