He was predeceased by: his parents, Willis Simpson and Nellie M. Wallace Simpson of Decatur, GA; his brother Donald Leon Simpson of McCaysville, GA; his brother-in-law Ronnie Massey of Covington, GA; his father-in-law Elmer S. Cole of Snellville, GA.; and his former spouse Donald Simpson.
He is survived by: his wife Deborah I. Simpson "Debbie"; his sons, Travis R. Simpson of Grayson, GA and Todd R. Simpson of Lawrenceville, GA; his granddaughter Holly Anne Simpson of Lawrenceville; his sisters, Bobbie Jean (Frank Sheriff) and Joy Stubbs (Virginia Massey) of Hampton, GA; his mother-in-law Zelma I. Cole of Snellville, GA; and his sister-in-law Tonya L. Cole of Monroe, GA.. He is also survived by nieces and nephews.
Visitation was held on Wednesday, November 20th 2024 from 10:00 AM to 12:45 PM at the Byrd & Flanigan Crematory and Funeral Service (288 Hurricane Shoals Rd NE, Lawrenceville, GA 30046). A funeral service was held on Wednesday, November 20th 2024 at 1:00 PM at the same location. A burial was held on Wednesday, November 20th 2024 at 2:30 PM at the Snellville Historical Cemetery Historical Cemetery (2400 GA-10, Snellville, GA 30078).
