She was predeceased by: her parents, Roy Nicholson and Pearl Nicholson of Phenix City, AL.; her husband Lester "Babe" Hawthorne; her sister Jeanette; and her granddaughter Zara Yee Hawthorne.
She is survived by: her sons, Wayne Hawthorne (Edyie) of Kennesaw, GA, David Hawthorne (Widney) of San Diego, CA and Jeff Hawthorne of Decatur, GA.; her grandchildren, Trevor Hawthorne, Amanda Penharlow (Jason), Sheila Baker and Angela Solomon; her great grandchildren, Christopher Solomon and Patrick Solomon; her great great grandchild Arthas Solomon; and her siblings, Betty Corbo of Las Vegas, NV, Kenneth Nicholson (Deborah) of Waverly Hall, GA and Jeraldine Kite of Smiths Station, AL.. She is also survived by nieces, nephews and great nieces and nephews.
