He was predeceased by: his parents, Hartie Maddox and Clara Pittman; his sister Sarah Davis; and his former wife Chris Crowe Hudson. He is survived by: his wife Kathryn Maddox; his nephew Glenn Davis (Donna); and his niece Pamela Oakes (family: Christopher Baker).

In Lieu of flowers, donations can be made to American Lung Association or a charity of choice in his honor.
