She was predeceased by: her father Jimmy Lee Jeffares; and her brother Tony Jeffares. She is survived by: her mother Wanda Keahey Haygood; her husband Karl A. Varnes; her daughter Elaine; her son-in-law Kevin White; her son Robert; her daughter-in-law Samantha Varnes; her stepmother Betty Jean Jeffares; her grandchildren, Landon Alewine, Brandon Alewine, MaryBeth White, Wyatt Varnes, EmmaKate White, Kace White and Colton Alewine; and her siblings, Kenny Jeffares (Susan), Rodney Jeffares (Kelly), Crystal Preffer (Kenneth) and Pam Shelton (Steve).
