It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Rufus Pearson of Lavonia, Georgia, born in Royston, Georgia, who passed away on February 17, 2021, at the age of 78, leaving to mourn family and friends. He was predeceased by: his parents, Walter Wilford and Sallie Mae Pearson (King); his wife Sue Ray Pearson (Dutton); his sons, Paul Pearson and Frankie Pearson; and his sister Margaret Pearson Saxon.
He is survived by: his children, Ann, Brian Fleeman of Vanna, Randy Pearson of Hartwell, Kenneth Pearson of Hartwell, Jason and Briana Pearson of Hartwell; his grandchildren, Sammy, Shamberly Pearson, Dustin, McKayla Findley, Robby, Danielle Pearson, Rusty Pearson, Briana Pearson, Brittany Kelley, Josh Pearson, Jordan Pearson, Jagger Pearson, Easton Pearson, Paislyn Pearson, CJ Huff, Kanthy Sexton, Grayson Kelley, Ansley Kelley, Khloe Kelley, Braxten Pearson, Camelia Pearson, Rylee Findley, Bryar Findley, Anna Pearson and Trinity Pearson; and his siblings, Mary Bryant, Patricia Dove, Linda House, Deborah Rowland and Robert Pearson.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home Friday beginning at 1:30 p. m. Those in attendance are reminded to wear masks and adhere to social distancing and all public health guidelines.
