He is survived by: his wife Sarah Fortner (Couch); his children, Sierra Fortner, Mercedes Smith, John Couch, Arland Patton, Tyler Fortner and Adrianna Fortner; his granddaughter Addison Smith; and his sisters, Rebecca Fortner and Bobbie Jean Simmons. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
