It is with great sadness that we announce the death of James Merritt Byrd of Lavonia, Georgia, who passed away on January 23, 2022, at the age of 30, leaving to mourn family and friends. He is survived by: his children, Akashia Ja'Dayia Maxwell, La'Driquis James Maxwell and Faith Unique Griff; his mother Hassie Burton; and his siblings, Cedric Burton, Monique Jones, Marethia Burton and Burlia Byrd. He is also survived by nephews, nieces, other relatives, and friends.
