He was predeceased by: his parent James Burette Mitchell; his brother Pruitt Mitchell; and his grandson Andrew Scott Mitchell. He is survived by: his parent Mary Vella Mitchell (Pruitt); his wife Polly Mitchell (Crowe); his son Scott Mitchell of Canon; his daughter-in-law Denise Mitchell of Canon; his daughter Kim Bruce of Lavonia; his son-in-law Scot Bruce of Lavonia; and his grandchildren, Alex Mitchell, Keri Bruce and Anthony Mitchell.
