It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Betty Bowen of Lavonia, Georgia, born in Maryville, Tennessee, who passed away on February 28, 2023, at the age of 79, leaving to mourn family and friends. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.

She was predeceased by: her father James T. Ratledge; and her husband Billy Gerald Bowen. She is survived by: her mother Annie Mae Brewer Ratledge; her children, Marc Bowen, Joe Bowen and Valerie Tobias; her brothers, Jeffrey Gardener and Byron Gardner; and her grandchildren, Brooke Bowen, Brandon Bowen, Jennifer Wiese, Christopher Tobias and John Tobias.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Pleasant Hill Baptist Church for the Annie Armstrong Easter Offering or State Missions.
