He was predeceased by: his parents, Esther Mae Chastain Cain and Luther Littleton Pierce; his daughter Brandi Pierce; and his siblings, Wilton Pierce, Wanda Rumph, Barbara Pierce, Patricia Zipperer and Carolyn Pierce.
He is survived by: his children, Donald Townsend, Greg (Gloria Townsend), Wendell (Teresa Pierce), Cassandra Trowell and Stephanie (Rodney Taylor); his sister Marilyn Pierce of Cherry Lake, Florida; and the mother of his children Gladys Pierce. He is also survived by 7 grandchildren; 6 great grandchildren.
