It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Othalene Barfield Carter of Lake Park, Georgia, who passed away on February 24, 2025, at the age of 87, leaving to mourn family and friends. She was predeceased by: her parents, James Arthur Barfield and Emmer Lee Mosely; her husband Paul Woodrow Carter, Sr.; her daughter Anita Carter; and her siblings, Mary Notaro, Eschol Barfield, Mayo Barfield and JB Barfield.
She is survived by: her children, Paul Carter Jr. (Carol) of Vero Beach, Florida, Althea Parker (Robert) of Boston, Georgia, James Carter (Candy) of Vero Beach, Florida, Teresa Stults (Jerry) of Ormand Beach, Florida and Suzanne Carter of Lake Park, Georgia; and her close friends, Connie, Joann, Bonita and Becky. She is also survived by 20 grandchildren; 61 great grandchildren; 10 great great grandchildren; numerous nieces, nephews.
Visitation will be held on Friday, February 28th 2025 from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM at the Music Funeral Services - Valdosta (3831 N Valdosta Rd, Valdosta, GA 31602). A funeral service will be held on Saturday, March 1st 2025 from 11:00 AM to 12:00 PM at 1005 W Gordon St, Valdosta, GA 31601. A burial will be held on Saturday, March 1st 2025 at the San Pedro Cemetery (9231 Co Rd 14, Madison, FL 32340).
