He is survived by: his wife DeAnna Strickland Courson; his children, Madilyn Elizabeth Courson and John Michael Courson; his mother Cindy Courson Cumbess of Echols County; his sister Lisa Corbett (Steve); his nephew Colby; his niece Emily Corbett; his nieces and nephews, Taylor and Brittney Corbett; his great-nephew Tony of Echols County; his brother Randy Courson (Mary); his nieces and nephews, Maci Courson and Paul Courson of Echols County; his stepsiblings, Timmy Cumbess (Michelle) of Lake Park, GA, Zakk Cumbess (Tiffany) of Jacksonville, FL, Sherae McMasters (Chris) of Echols County and Julie Cumbess of Savannah; his parents-in-law, Wink and Nancy Strickland of Homerville; his sister-in-law Amy (Craig Hunt); his nephew Sam; his niece Caroline of Greenville, SC; his brother-in-law John (Heidi Strickland); his brother-in-law Stephen (April Tinsley); and also, Collins of Valdosta and Allenee of Homerville.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Georgia Sheriff's Boys Ranch, 5671 Boys Ranch Rd., Hahira, GA 31632.

(John 5: 28,29) During this difficult time, a strong hope in God’s promises will help you to endure. And through endurance, you will experience that grand future in which Jehovah will “give you the requests of your heart.” He will satisfy “the desire of every living thing.” (Psalm 37:4) Things will get better soon.”
