With solemn hearts, we announce the passing of Marilyn Newell King (Lake Park, Georgia), whose presence will be deeply missed, having departed on March 2, 2025 at the age of 79. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.

She was predeceased by: her parents, Donald Newell and Margaret Newell; and her brother John Allan Newell. She is survived by: her husband John King of Lake Park; her children, Nicole Altepeter of Lake Park, Christy King of Valdosta and Greg King (Kathryn) of Lake Park; her grandchildren, Ella Rose Clifford, Rhett Clifford, Silas Altepeter, Weston King, Will King, Jacob Baxter, Alexia Baxter, Hunter Baxter, Cassadie Baxter, Michael Baxter, Anna Baxter and Kinsley Baxter; her brother Donald Newell, Jr. (Carla) of Ft. Lauderdale, FL; her nephews, Logan Newell, Landon Newell, Chris Newell and Cody Newell; and her close friend Sharon Dickert of Lake Park.

Visitation was held on Thursday, March 6th 2025 from 3:00 PM to 4:00 PM at the Calendar Carson McLane Funeral Home (2215 N Patterson St, Valdosta, GA 31602). A funeral service was held on Thursday, March 6th 2025 at 4:00 PM at the same location.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to The Raintree Village Children's Home in Dasher, Georgia, Raintree Village, 3757 Johnston Road, Valdosta, GA 31601.

“So many thoughts, so many good times. You were my chauffeur before I had my drivers license. You allowed me to stay at your apartment when I was going to college. We hung out at Trevecca together . We took those 3 day rides from Florida to Kansas with the family, before cars had air conditioning. You and mom chased the men out of the house with your permanents back in the day. The Lord just received another great and loyal servant. I will see you one day. I love you Donnie”
