He was predeceased by: his parents, Joe K. McMullen and Fannie Mae McMullen; his brothers, J. B. McLeod, Jody McMullen (Eloise), Cranford McMullen (Madelyn), Evans McMullen and Ellis McMullen (Pat); and his grandson-in-law Evan Souris.
He is survived by: his wife Judy McMullen; his children, James McMullen Jr. (Susan) and Julie Barrett (Phil); his grandchildren, Deandra Drew (Jessie), Deidra Murdock (Lance), James McMullen III (Tiffany), Jennifer Golightly (Billy), Morgan McMullen, Robert Barrett, Julianna Barrett and Phillip Barrett; his great grandchildren, Cindy and Daniel Drew; his grandchildren, Isabel, Liam, Evelyn Murdock, Sofia James IV, McKenna McMullen and Kris Souris; his siblings-in-law, Lenora McMullen, Cora Jensen and Jimmy Jones; his niece Christy; his great-nephew David Jones (Tonya); and also Laura Slevin (AJ). He is also survived by children; as well as numerous cousins, nieces, and nephews.
