He was predeceased by: his parents, Alford Garner and Susan Garner (Goltz); and his grandparents, Helen, Earl Goltz, Ruth, William Klinger and Audley Garner.

He is survived by: his siblings, Alisa Garner, Scott Garner (Pam) and Jennifer Messner (Kevin); his uncle Jeff Goltz; his nieces and nephews, Megan, Mitchell, Zack, Avery and Makayla; and his pet Abby. He is also survived by several cousins, many friends.
