She is survived by: her husband Jerry Don Whitson; her son James Allen Tyrer, III; her sister Cherrie Lynn Bowen; her grandchildren, Rachel Tyrer and Luke Tyrer; and her stepchildren, Steve Garrett (Missy), Jill Hale (Scott), James Randall "Randy" Whitson and Donna Whitson Lankford (Keith). She is also survived by seven step-grandchildren, five step great-grandchildren.
