With heavy hearts, we announce the death of Raymond Yancey Smith Sr. of LaGrange, Georgia, who passed away on February 10, 2024 at the age of 91. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
He was predeceased by: his parents, Bob Yancey and Sara Evelyn Cadenhead Smith; and his siblings, Sylbra Evelyn Smith Joiner and Bob Jackson Smith. He is survived by: his wife Reba Louise Laster Smith; his children, Raymond Yancey Smith Jr. (Cheryl), Kenneth Alan Smith (Beth), Phillip Barry Smith (Lynn) and Cynthia Louise Smith Cater (Bob); his grandchildren, Brittany Comerford (Matt), Heather Thompson (Jon), Ashley Vaughn (Chase), Emily Highnote (John), Sally Cargo (Hace), Mary Beth Scott (Toby), Brannon Smith (Liz), Will Smith (Alex), John Cater, Chloe Cater and Zach Cater; and his great grandchildren, Mattie, Logan, Luke, Lila, Abby, Carson, Charlie, Blakely, Bradley, Brynlee, Ida, Darcy, Quincy, Sam, Sally Jane, Clifton, Mac and Beckett. He is also survived by extended family members and dear friends.
