He was predeceased by: his parents, William M. Abernathy and Mary Leila Shockley Abernathy; and his daughter Peggy Kaye Collins. He is survived by: his wife Catherine L. Abernathy of LaGrange, GA; his son Marvin Randy Abernathy (Megan) of LaGrange, GA; and his grandchildren, Andrea Evans (Steve) and Andy Baxley (Anna). He is also survived by seven great grandchildren; several nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends.
In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Hospice LaGrange Charitable Trust, 1514 Vernon Road, LaGrange, GA 30240, in memory of Mr. Abernathy.
