He was predeceased by: his father Frank James Hood. He is survived by: his mother Evelyn Landers Hood; his wife Penelope Acree Hood; his children, Brent Hood (Kyoko), Michael "Layne" Hood (Cydney) and Nicci Schmidt (David); his stepchildren, Patrick Reagan (Amber) and Rachel Monroe (Jeremy); his sister Pam Shields (Benny); his grandchildren, Dallas, Jaxxon, Callee and Elena; his stepgrandchildren, John Morgan and Mary Reagan; and his nephews, Matthew Shields (Katie) and Michael Shields (Ashley).

Visitation will be held on Saturday, March 1st 2025 from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM at the Higgins Funeral Home (506 Hill St, LaGrange, GA 30240). A memorial service will be held on Saturday, March 1st 2025 at 2:00 PM at the same location.
