"Pete" Laye; his daughter Kokiethia Laye; his grandparents, Charlie Frank, Ella Davis Lay and James Howard Broome; his aunts and uncles, Ruth Laye, Ruby Turner, Willie Frank Laye, Booker T. Laye, Sr., Henry Lee Laye, Charlie Edward Broome, Spencer Roger Broome and Lawrence Broome (Peter); and his nephew Receo Remon Harris.
He is survived by: his mother Mary L. Laye Laye; his children, Marquavious Antrell Laye, Sr., Nikerra C. Harrell (Santron), Terrance Donte'Porter, Miesha Inge and Kenyatta McGhee; his grandchildren, Amiracle Oritha Laye, Marquavious Antrell Laye, Jr., Zy'Darius McKee, Noel C. Harrell and Sariyah Amani Porter; his siblings, Sharon Laye, Lawanda Patterson Placid, Rudy Laye (Theresa) of Pine Mountain, GA, Stanley Laye of Franklin, GA, Dexter Laye (Tomeka) of Franklin, GA and Demetrius Laye of LaGrange, GA; his grandmother Catherine Broome of LaGrange, GA; his aunts and uncles, Willene Phillips of LaGrange, GA, Janell Reese of LaGrange, GA, Lottie Maxine Williams of LaGrange, GA, Margraite Ree Laye of Atlanta, GA, Ella, Dorothy Laye of Snellville, GA, Charlie Lewis Laye (Linda) of Franklin, GA and William Broome (Mattie) of LaGrange, GA; his cousins, Spencer "Pee Wee" Broome, Kenny Broome and Booker T. Laye, Jr.; and his close friends, Bernita Porter, Tamika Johnson, Beverly Tullis and Angela Bridges. He is also survived by nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives, and friends.
Visitation will be held on Wednesday, February 26th 2025 from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM at the Lakes-Dunson-Robertson Funeral Home (100 Corporate Plaza Dr, LaGrange, GA 30241). A celebration of life will be held on Thursday, February 27th 2025 at 2:00 PM at the Canaan Baptist Church (5930 Mooty Bridge Rd, Franklin, GA 30217).
