She was predeceased by: her spouse Claude W. Southard Sr.; her parents, John Nathaniel Nix and Emma David Nix; and her siblings, Ruth Williams, Ruby Huthmacher, Ione Locklair, Irene Burnham, Willie Mae Villeponteaux, Henry Nix and Johnny Nix.

She is survived by: her son William Gray Jr. (Barbara); and her stepson Emery Southard (Elizabeth).
