It is with great sadness that we announce the death of John Eugene McManaway (LaGrange, Georgia), born in Greenville, South Carolina, who passed away on May 14, 2020, at the age of 89, leaving to mourn family and friends. He was loved and cherished by many people including: his wife Betty Iler McManaway; his parents, J. E. McManaway, Jr. and Estelle Payne McManaway; his siblings, Sara Hudgins (Elwood), Jeanne Armitstead (Jimmy) and David McManaway (Judy); his children, Debbie Rivers of Charlotte, NC, Lee Lawrence of Kiawah Island, SC and John IV (Lisa) of Alabaster, AL; his grandchildren, Carson Rivers, Will Lawrence (Nicole), Matt Lawrence, Jordan McManaway and Kaitlin Richardson (Will); and his sister-in-law Judy McManaway of Greenville, SC..
Because of the present pandemic, only an immediate family graveside service can be held at Restlawn Memory Gardens.
In lieu of flowers, a memorial to the Music Ministry of First United Methodist Church, 401 Broad Street, LaGrange, GA 30240, would be pleasing to John or a gift to another charitable organization.
