Jerry Kennon Smith Obituary
We are sad to announce that on February 14, 2025, at the age of 65, Jerry Kennon Smith of LaGrange, Georgia passed away. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
As Jerry departs from our midst, his spirit ascends to join the cosmic dance of stars, a shimmering constellation of memories that will forever grace the night sky of the hearts of those who loved Jerry. Though Jerry may no longer walk beside us, his legacy lives on — a testament to the enduring power of love to transcend the boundaries of time and space.
He was predeceased by: his parents, Kennon Smith and Ann Evelyn Allen Smith. He is survived by: his daughter Allison Deckard (Oscar); his siblings, Peter Smith (Lisa) and Jenny Williams (Bill); and his grandson Charlie Deckard. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
Visitation was held on Thursday, February 20th 2025 from 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM at the Higgins Funeral Home (506 Hill St, LaGrange, GA 30240). A celebration of life was held on Thursday, February 20th 2025 at 1:00 PM at the same location.
In lieu of flowers, a benevolence fund has been set up in the family's name at the Baptist Tabernacle church in LaGrange. Donations can be made to the church or to Higgins Funeral Home by calling 706-884-5626.
