She was predeceased by: her parents, J. W. Veal and Evelyn Prince Veal; her husband Rev. Morris Lee Carter; her son Lester Carter; and her grandson Chase Carter.

She is survived by: her son John; her daughter-in-law Sherry Carter of LaGrange; and her grandchildren, Matthew (Kayla Carter), Miracle (Jeffrey Newton), Taylor Carter, Abbi (Tom Ison), Kattie Hanson, Dustin Carter, Austin Carter and Keri (Josh Miller). She is also survived by eleven great-grandchildren.
