With solemn hearts, we announce the passing of Emlyn Louise Barnes (LaGrange, Georgia), whose presence will be deeply missed, having departed on April 16, 2025 at the age of 73. She was predeceased by: her parents, Richard Brown, Sr. and Anna Louise Brown; her husband George; her son Gerald Brown; and her siblings, Charita Austin and Kelvin Brown, Sr..
She is survived by: her children, Curtis Brown (Alease) and Angela Thigpen (James); her stepchildren, Carla Thompson, Dewyone Crims (Joyia), Carl Nicholson, Antoinne Barnes (Valencia) and Tahira Washington (Donovan); her grandchildren, Tiana Madden (Andrew), Deoni Graham (Cameron), Karlmel Thigpen, Brandon Freeman, Chandelier Burke-Brown, Curtis Brown, Jr., Ricardo Jackson, Taryn Washington, Tegan Washington and Valiyah Barnes; her great grandchildren, Mellani Madden, Andrew Madden, Jr. and Trent Graham; and her siblings, Malina Brown Hayes, Howard Brown, Susanne Gordon (Philbert), Alicia Dampier (Otis), Patricia Rubio and Richard Brown, Jr.. She is also survived by nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
Visitation was held on Friday, April 25th 2025 from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM at the Lakes-Dunson-Robertson Funeral Home (100 Corporate Plaza Dr, LaGrange, GA 30241). A celebration of life was held on Saturday, April 26th 2025 at 11:00 AM at the same location.
