He was predeceased by: his parents, Gilbert Walker and Mozell Williams McGruder; and his siblings, Walter Lee Walker, Daniel Lee Walker, Willie Walker, Veonnia Walker, Willie Steve Williams, Robert Lewis McGruder, Lee McKee, Bishop McGruder, Ruby Kate McGruder and Christine Copeland.
He is survived by: his wife Zelma McGruder; his children, Rose Martin (Edward), Sharon McGruder, Mary Dunlap (Albert), Wayne Moss and Shannon Moss; his goddaughters, Cynthia Heard (Dexter) and Linda Deloach (Ricky); his siblings, Lucille McGruder, Laura Tucker, Cathrine McGruder, Gloria Price (Randy), Lela Fox and Joe Cecil Copeland (Mary); and his siblings-in-law, Henry Lee Tucker (Jackie) and Lula Floyd. He is also survived by nineteen grandchildren; thirty-five great grandchildren.
