He was predeceased by: his parents, James Britt Lanier and Mary Jim Cook Lanier. He is survived by: his nieces, Debbie Jackson, Donna Lankford and Delores Berry (Paul); his great-nieces and great-nephews, Karen, Will Whisnant, Lorra, Jordan Stone and Pete Johnson (Tinley); his wife Janelle; and his siblings, Lucile Underwood and James B. Lanier, Jr.. He is also survived by numerous other nieces and nephews, family and friends.
A graveside service was held on Monday, December 30th 2024 at 2:00 PM at the Shadowlawn Cemetery (112 Oak Ln, LaGrange, GA 30241).
In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made in memory of David Sidney Lanier to Lakeview Baptist Church, 267 Maley Road, LaGrange, GA 30241or plant a Memorial Tree to honor him.
