He was predeceased by: his parents, Mattie Lou Brewer Stargell and C. S. Patterson; and his daughter Sharon Cofield. He is survived by: his wife Patricia Diane Broughton; his daughter Shanna; his grandchildren, Tamia Robertson, Ashton Hill, Dexter (Candis), Kimberly, Taurean, Tameka, Chantris Cofield and Rodriques Peterson; and his siblings, Clotell Stargell, Morris, William, Elijah Stargell, Patterson and Charlie Roberts. He is also survived by son sisters and brothers; and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives; and a life long friend.
