She was predeceased by: her parents, Elijah Rachel, Sr. and Ruby Slaughter Rachel; her spouse Gordan Rowland, Sr.; her children, Darnell Rowland, Alma Johnson and Kenneth Rowland; her sons-in-law, Glover Childs, Linton Lawrence, Charles Griffin and Ray Jackson; and her grandparents, Lizzie Slaughter, Johnny and Rebecca Rachel.

She is survived by: her children, Gordon Rowland, Sr. (Sara), Anne Childs, Brenda Lawrence, Alton Rowland (Viola), Gail Griffin, Barbara Jackson, Thomas Rowland (Lisa), Kimberly Mctyre and Terry Rowland (Adrianne). She is also survived by twenty great-great grandchildren; and a host of nieces and nephews.
