He is survived by: his children, Maxine Brooks Stanley (Kerry), Alan Brooks, Robert Brooks, Christopher Brooks, Alvin Brooks, Jr., Melva Brown, Michael Minor, Stacye Scott, Felicia Harden, Irvin Ridgeway, Mario Ridgeway and Malachi Tucker; his siblings, Elige Brooks, Jewell Brooks, Harvey Brooks (Beverly), Alranso Brooks (Carla), Eva Brooks, Patricia Anderson, Betty Goodman and Dorothy Ferrell (Larry); his aunts, Bertha Brewer, JoAnn Hurston and Mary Hall; his nephew Willie Brooks; his godson Brandon Yarbrough; and his close friends, Bobby Yarbrough (Linda), Mike Dobbs, Dorothy Ridgeway, Melvin Douner, Marion Randall and Rebecca Williams. He is also survived by thirty grandchildren; thirty-four great grandchildren.
