He was predeceased by : his parents, Clephone Ellis Dalton and Faye Reed Dalton; and his siblings, Bruce Dalton and Nancy Gooch. He is survived by : his wife Helen S. Dalton of Kite; his children, Derek Dalton of Kite, Patrick Dalton (Jacqueline) of Kite, Chad Dalton of Wrightsville and Tonya Dalton of Edisto, S. C.; and his brothers, John E. Dalton of Weaverville, N. C. and Lynn Bryant of Alabama. He is also survived by 15 grandchildren; 21 great-grandchildren; several nieces, nephews, and many friends.
